Question:
I have always had very flat cheeks and have envied those with nice high cheek bones. Would implants be a good way to improve my flat cheeks? Are there other options like fillers?
Answer:
If you have very flat cheeks and you want nice high cheek bones, by far the best way to deal with this is to place an implant in the area. There are some very good implants and if they are done symmetrically they can be inserted and look very natural, be permanent and have very little risk involved with them. However, if someone has only a minor problem and is not that interested in having surgery with an implant, there are a number of fillers that are long lasting that can be used in this area. One filler in particular is called Sculptra. Also Juvederm Ultra 2 lasts for a reasonable length of time and can be used in this area. There are also a number of others. However, fillers are a little more difficult to place in symmetrically and to match the cheeks up just right, and even long lasting fillers are still all temporary in nature. Again, I usually recommend doing cheek implants which give a really nice result and these are inserted from underneath the lip and do not involve any scars or visible incisions.
