Question:
I would like to get an eyelid lift for both my upper and lower eyelids. What sort of recovery is there after this procedure?
Answer:
Upper and lower eyelid surgery would involve sutures being placed for approximately five to seven days. After the sutures are removed you will have some visible scar lines that will fade over a period of three months. However, most patients go back to work after about seven to nine days, putting makeup on with very little evidence of having had surgery. As far as the surgery is concerned, it can be done either under local anesthesia or IV sedation very easily depending upon the particular patient and all patients are up and around the next day. Most black and blue is gone within five to seven days, most swelling of any significance if gone in seven to ten days, and the sutures are all out at one week.
