Question:
Is Juvederm used for the same problems that Botox is used for, wrinkles in the forehead, and how does it compare to Botox in price, in length of effectiveness and keeping the face smooth?
Answer:
Botox and Juvederm are different medications. Botox is a neurotoxin that is used to relax the muscles and removes wrinkling by relieving muscle tension. Juvederm, on the other hand, is a filler that relieves the visibility of wrinkles by filling them. Juvederm is temporary as is Botox, and while Botox works very well for chronic muscle tension in the forehead, between the eyes and the upper nose area and sometimes around the lateral canthal areas on the outside of the eyes, Juvederm works best in nasolabial folds around the lips and around the corners of the mouth.
